Final Results On The Job Offer

October 16, 2018

Hey y'all, it's me!

Okay, after much deliberation and going back and forth over all the facts, crunching the numbers, looking at all the pros and cons, yadda, yadda, yadda, about whether to accept the job offer which would require us to move to New Hampshire, we have made our decision....

We are staying right here, in our beloved Lone Star State.

We prayed, looked at all we could, spoke with Realtors in New Hampshire, prayed, looked at the cost of living there versus here, prayed, went over all the things we would need to do to transport our animals and household goods, prayed, what we would have to do to sell the house here, prayed, prayed, and prayed some more.

No matter how we looked at it, we just couldn't get the numbers to come out where it would be better to take the job and relocate. At best it would be a lateral move, and at worst it would put us deeper in debt. Not a good move, considering that we are so close to being completely out of debt, other than the house and truck.

So the Redneck told the recruiter what he had decided, and his reasons why. She was gracious, and she was glad to hear that we were thorough in our decision making process. She is going to see if she can find something closer to home, and if the company who offered the job ever moves to Texas, she will come calling again.

We are actually a little disappointed about the decision, yet we both have peace about it, and that was the result we had asked people to pray about--that we would both have peace, no matter the outcome.

So thank you all for praying about this, I know that helped us to find the wisdom to know what to check out, and to help us make the right decision for our family.

Well, I got chores. Later y'all.

  1. I'm happy you guys have peace about this and what a relief you both must feel, to have made the final decision. That surely would have been a huge ordeal in order to just be making a lateral move. I think you guys are very wise!!

    1. We better be, after all the prayers for wisdom. It is a big relief, and I just feel wiped out after all these weeks of waiting and researching. I think I'm just going to relax a bit tonight, and start working on some of those projects that I couldn't do until we knew what was going to happen.

    2. That was such a big move and you are well established where you are. Moving can be exciting but also overwhelming. I think you got your answer and I am happy you are happy with it.

    3. Me too. It was funny today when I told my friend at the library, she was very relieved that she wouldn't be losing Obie as her 'coffee buddy'. He gets to drink a cup of coffee with her when we go in the mornings. He sits at one of the tables up front, she makes him a cup, and he sips it. Then he throws away his cup, tells her "Thank you," and we finish our tasks.
