And Now It Begins...

June 20, 2018

Hey y'all, it's me!

I am excited today, because I have finally--I say FINALLY--gotten our home gym usable. It's not painted and pretty...yet. But it's set up to where we can use our equipment. I'm working on getting the walls repaired in couple of places and painted a nice blue, putting up motivational signs, our workout routines put where we can easily follow them, and I'm looking for a good used DVD player in the pawn shops to go with our analog television so I can follow my yoga routines. I even have the room organized so I can set up my massage table when I want to work on the Redneck, or even trade off with a friend who does massage (oh, I need a massage sooooooo bad).

I've been going through the exercise cards that come with my Total Gym XLS, setting up my routine. I will set out my workout clothes tonight, so I will have no excuse for tomorrow morning.

I love weight training, it just makes me feel so good. I love to sweat, feel my muscles burn with effort, and to have the sense of accomplishment that comes with a good workout. I have missed my daily workouts. and I can tell I haven't really worked out in a long time. I have used getting the rest of the house put together as an excuse since I moved here, but no more.

No, I'm not doing this to look good, although I know it will be a side effect of the effort. I'm doing it to build up my strength and stamina, to make myself better physically, and when I do that, I get better mentally and spiritually also. In Proverbs 31:17 it says;

"She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms."

I have always seen this as not only strengthening herself in the spiritual, but also in the physical realm. Trust me, the women of the time this was written were hard workers, and they needed to be healthy and strong. I'm already pretty strong, yet I want to improve my endurance, balance, and other aspects of my physical body.

Two women who inspire me to work out are Ernestine Shepard and Wendy Ida.

These pictures are several years old, and they STILL look good. I love women who prove that aging doesn't mean you have to get old.

I'm going to close now, and finish setting up for my new workout routines. I just want y'all to understand...

Well, I got chores. Later y'all.

  1. Love this and I am working on my own home gym... as pitiful as it may be, it'll work if I use it. You go girl!
